- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland intends to negotiate and award a purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c) (1), with Lavision, Inc. in Ypsilanti, MI for the purchase of equipment and software to upgrade an existing CCD Camera system, Lavision Imager Pro X 2M, Article 1101340. Lavision, Inc. is the only source that can provide the equipment and software for this upgrade as they are the sole authorized provider of the equipment and software which is proprietary to the company. Lavision, Inc. has no distributors. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by April 8, 2009 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
