Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to negotiate a sole source follow-on commercial item procurement with Electroneurodiagnositic, Inc. to continue providing Intra-operative neurophysiology monitoring of complex brain and spinal procedures for veteran patients admitted into the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham, NC. The scope of service involves Spinal Surgery Monitoring Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Upper and Lower extremities Free-running EMG Pedicle screw testing transcranial electrical Motor Evoked Potentials (tceMEP). The principle duties require all services be performed on-site within the Operating Room Department and other high acuity, acute care units at the VAMC. The monitoring service includes Intracranial and Skull-base surgeries, Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, Cranial Nerve monitoring, Electrocorticography (mapping) Electroencephalography, Peripheral Nerve Surgery, Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Electromyography, and Nerve Conduction assessment with clinical evoked potentials. This support includes creating/maintaining management reports, as well as data acquisition and processing on a daily basis. Basic responsibilities: 1) Adhering to authority of Public Law 104-262 and 38 USC 8153. 2) Provide Health Care Resources in accordance with all terms and conditions stated 3) Developing client service reports as needed, and 4) Acquiring data on an as needed, daily or monthly basis. This proposed procurement is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, March 27, 2009, local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
