Description
This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website located at http://www.fbo.gov, the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Acquisition website located at http://www.crane.navy.mil/acquisition/homepage.htm. FBO is the primary point of entry to be used when access to synopses and solicitations from the World Wide Web is required. However, the NECO webpage as well as the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Acquisition webpage serve as alternatives if the FBO website is unavailable. MARKET SURVEY - SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this sources-sought announcement as part of a market survey for information only and will be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this synopsis. This synopsis is for the manufacture of Shipping and Storage Arrangements in accordance with drawings listed below: 53711-6234585 - Shipping & Storage Arrangement; VSG53711-5495322 - Shipping & Storage Arrangement; Cooling Chamber53711-6235559 - Shipping & Storage Arrangement; Dummy LT Closure53711-5945924 - Shipping & Storage Arrangement; Umbilical Retractor Mechanism53711-6235044 - Shipping & Storage Arrangement; Standpipe The Shipping and Storage Arrangements shall comply with all requirements stated in the drawing unless otherwise indicated in this synopsis. Respondents should note the tight tolerances on the drawing and ensure they are able to meet these requirements. Included below are exceptions noted to the drawing: 1. The Shipping and Storage Arrangements may be manufactured utilizing Southern Yellow Pine as an acceptable substitute. 2. Military Standard heat treated lumber is required in accordance IPSM #15.3. Tactical equipment references in the supplied drawings are not to be included in the solicitation process. The respondent must be able to demonstrate the ability to manufacture these Shipping and Storage Arrangements in a timely fashion and exhibit the ability to adjust production rate quantities, if required. It is anticipated that first article testing provisions for each Shipping and Storage Arrangement will be included in the request for proposal. Upon award and successful completion of first article inspection, the contractor will be cleared for production of remaining Shipping and Storage Arrangement. The Government procuring activity reserves the right to perform vendor surveillance as part of the selection process. This sources sought synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. Potential companies must be registered with the Joint Certification Program (JCP) in order to view the drawings - http://www.dlis.dla.mil/JCP/Default.aspx. Once registered with JCP controlled drawings can be requested at https://www.fbo.gov. Interested organizations who feel they possess the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the Government the following information; point of contact, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, duns number, cage code and/or tax identification number, as well as business size category (large, small, small disadvantaged, etc.), a brief summary of the company's capabilities, description of facilities, personnel, related manufacturing experience, and existing safety approvals. Any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. should also be provided. All information marked as proprietary information will be safeguarded to prevent disclosures to non-Government personnel and entities. Your interest in this response is appreciated.
