- On-site Storage Management in support of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Enterprise Storage Network. The contractor is required to have access to EMC proprietary tools/software such as Diagnostic Testing and Performance Monitoring, needed to diagnose hardware and software issues. Contractor shall be EMC certified in the following EMC hardware and software: EMC DMS2000, EMC DMX1000, EMC Connectrix, EMC Celerra, EMC Centerra, EMC Clarion Disk Library (CDL)(EDL), Xiotech Magnitude, VSRM Software, SRDF, TimeFinder, Prod Manager Software for Connectrix, Symmetrics SANMGR Software, Backup Enabler-Comm Vault, Connectrix Manager, EMC Control Center. The contractor shall provide storage management on the overall architectural design, administration, planning and mission support for the implementation of hardware and software solutions. The contractor shall provide interface support for all hardware and AFRC application owners. Contractor shall provide operating and planning solution recommendations for architecture along with executiono of infrastructure support. Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, transportation, necessary to perorm and provide service support on these systems. The work includes operational service support needed to maintain these systems at optimal functional capability. Contractor shall: provide management of storage operations within AFRC; plan and assign storage based on best practices using software products as appropriate; provide usage trend reporting on all installed EMC equipment; provide capacity planning and monthly usage reporting; advise AFRC staff members on best practices for equipment usage and performance; provide recommendations on technical planning for future initiataives; and conduct test backups, manage backup schedules, develop and manage off-site storage of backups. The planned period of performance is one basic 12-month period and four 12-month option periods. Note 22. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
