This sources sought notice is set aside for small businesses only. Interested parties should submit past performance and capability statements for a similarly manufactured item and quantities to Sharon Blanche, Directorate of Contracting, 681 Hardee Place, West Point, NY 10996-1514 or by email to sharon.blanche@usma.edu. Please include your business standard. The United States Military Academy(USMA) is looking for a contractor to manufacture and provide Blackboard Mechanics Demo Kits. The manufacturing must take place within the United States. The Contractor shall provide approximately 12 kits which can perform 31 demonstations each kit in basic mechanics on a classroom chalkboard. The kits contain large alnico magnets to support the fixed components on any steel marker board, making it possible to show your diagrams and calculations directly adjacent to each set-up. Components are large with large markings for easy viewing and include quality components to minimize friction. The system provides for easy set-up and disassembly. The set covers inclined planes, levers, and pulleys; center of mass; the composition of forces; pendulums; Hooke's law and spring constants; simple harmonic motion; resonance and friction. The manual provides approaches suitable for seventh through twelfth grades. Set includes an inclined plane with fixed pulley and oversized protractor; a 5N roller; a 54.5cm graduated beam with regularly spaced holes; a 40cm rod for use with the beam; a double tandem pulley with removable sheaves; two fixed pulleys; two 20cm diameter 0-20N dynamometers; three magnetic anchor posts and a fulcrum. Also a plumb bob; a slotted counterweight; three springs; a 20 x 56cm ruler; four large magnetic vinyl arrows; six 1N double hooked weights; an aluminum friction block with hooks and one Teflon face; an irregular high-impact styrene plate; braided nylon cord; plus a 28-page illustrated manual. All comes in a fitted wood storage case. Delivery is required NLT April 30, 2009.
