- This notice is issued to provide answers/questions and is provided as amendment 0001 to CSS #W9124R-09-T-1034. The closing date remains the same. Q1. We will build a chamber that has spark resistant fans blades and use the requested sheathed heaters but the chamber will not be explosion proof, will that be acceptable? A1. The chamber is not required to contain an explosion. The requirement is to use materials, hardware, and manufacturing methods that prevent hazardous conditions when testing energetic materials. Yes, the indicated are acceptable. Q2.How much 'head' does the gravity feed boiler water supply have? A2.The water supply tank is 12 feet above the chamber concrete floor level.
