Description
The Department of Energy (DOE) is in the process of re-competing its legal services acquisition for professional legal advice and assistance in matters involving labor and employment law, pensions and employee benefits, statutory and regulatory analysis, litigation, and labor relations for the Department of Energy Office of General Counsel. Services will be provided to the DOE headquarters (Washington, DC) program offices. This is a full and open competitive solicitation under NAIC code 541110. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted. Firms interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation must register at the Department of Energy online procurement system known as Fed Connect located at https://www.fedconnect.net/fedconnect/. No paper copies of the solicitation will be made available. Once registered, vendors update their profile to include Department of Energy as an agency they wish to be notified of opportunities. Vendors can search for the oppo rtunity within Fed Connect and register as an interested party. A helpful user guide for getting started in Fed Connect can be found as a PDF file on the Fed Connect website. This is a re-competition of legal support services; the incumbent contractor is Saul Ewing, LLP. The previous contract's term and the new requirement is for 5 years. The maximum quantity of hours to be ordered per year is 500. It is estimated that the solicitation will be available in early April 2009. The Department of Energy will be awarding a Time & Materials type contract as a result of this solicitation.
