- Description. This contract is for the furnishing of equipment and labor for performance of activities in accordance with enclosed specifications and contract provisions and shall drill a new developed vertical well with 6 inch permanent casing according to enclosed specifications, and pertinent State and Local codes. Contractor must be licensed by the State of Virginia for well drilling. Contractor shall be required to submit a plan of execution to the Park Service for approval prior to commencing work, and shall notify COR to verify drilling location prior to commencing drilling operations Location: One contract will be awarded for Shenandoah National Park. Camp Hoover is located off the Skyline Drive, MP 51, down Rapidan Road, approximately 6 miles to Camp Hoover. Rapidan Road is a graveled surface mountain road in good condition with no load restrictions and maximum grades of 6%. One bridge crossing located a Camp Hoover may be required that has a length of 44 feet, a curb to curb width of 12 feet and the following maximum load restrictions: Type 3 conventional truck, 25 Ton; Type 3S2 conventional truck, 36 Ton. The Skyline Drive is accessible via Front Royal, VA at mile post 0, Luray, VA off Hwy 211 at mile post 31 and Elkton, VA off Hwy 33 at mile post 65 SOL and specifications will post after Announcement has ended/after 15 day posting.
