Description
The Naval Research Laboratory intends to award to Valon Technologies Inc., on other than full and open competitive basis for the assembly, fabrication, testing and delivery of a Modular UHF Transponder and Power Amplifier Assembly. The UHF Transponder must do a non-processing conversion of signals in the 250-270 MHz range and convert them to signals in the 290-310 MHz range without distortion. The power amplifier stage must accept two transponder inputs, combining with them to produce an overall gain of 100 dB and a power output of 2W. Both of the units must be lightweight and have an input and output impedances of 50 ohms and be electronically shielded (enclosed) to reduce EMI. The delivery will be required within 10 weeks of contract award. Additional specifications will appear in the RFQ. Sole source is based on Duplication of ongoing effort for advanced fabrication of a proven Modular Transponder Design to Valon Technologies Inc. (Microsoft IE Required). The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Note: All offerors will be ineligible for award unless they have registered in DOD(s) Central Contractor Registration database. Information on CCR registration and annual confirmation requirements can be obtained via Internet at http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423.
