- Description
- Contingent upon the availability of funds, the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, FL intends to solicit BAE Systems Inc. on a sole source basis. Pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. BAE is the only known source capable of meeting the government's requirements without causing substantial duplication of cost to the government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency requirement. The requirement is to perform Blue Force Tracker temporary system installation on MC-130W aircraft. The contractor will also provide engineering support, technical manuals, technical data packages, installation support, maintenance support, kit fabrication, logistics support, and software updates. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 noon CDT on 27 March 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
