- The Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Aircraft Division intends to issue a contract on a SOLE SOURCE basis under NAICS Code 334514 ; to Avtron Aerospace, Inc. to provide upgrade kits for three (3) existing Avtron drive stand control consoles so that the drive stand control consoles are in accordance with DoD Directive 8500.1 “Information Assurance” (IA). The controlling software is being updated to a new Avtron ATE++ 32-bit software to comply with the operating system required by the DoD directive and to ensure it will interface with existing Avtron software on consoles. The drive stand consoles have become obsolete and can no longer be adequately maintained without the Avtron upgrades kits. Avtron will provide all upgrade kit materials, proprietary software, installation, functional testing and demonstration training, and other related supplies, to provide fully functioning consoles. The installation upgrade and training will be provided on-site at Patuxent River, MD. The Government does not own the control console design data or proprietary software to conduct a competition. The estimated total value of this acquisition is $482k on a Firm Fixed Price basis. Avtron Aerospace is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the drive stands and their control consoles and the existing equipment and upgrade kits are proprietary. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature, within fifteen (15) days of this announcement initial post date, to the contact person listed above.
