- The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified general construction contractors to provide the services desribed at the Potomac Job Corps Center, Washington, D.C. We are looking for qualified companies that qualify under the Small Business Programs mention in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. When submitting your response, please indicate under which programs you meet this criteria. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are small businesses with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. The new Vocational Complex will include five separate buildings. Building A will be comprised of three separate buildings, each of which is separated by a three-hour separation. Building B and Building C are separate buildings with a three-hour wall at the south end of Building B and a three-hour wall at the north end of Building C. Each building will be comprised of identical modules, ganged in mirror plan fashion, each module module containing vocational uses as well as educational areas. Located above each classroom/storage is a mechanical platform with a plywood walkway that is accessible by ladder. The area of the Building A (Buildings A1, A2, and A3) Complex is 19,200 gross square feet. Building A1 is 7,840 gross square feet, Building A2 is 7,425 gross square feet and Building A3 is 3,943 gross square feet. Vocational Buildings B and C each have a gross area of 6,145 gross square feet. BOCA considers the Vocational Buildings as use Group F-1, Factory and Industrial (BOCA 306.2) with incidental occupancies of User Group B, Business (BOCA 304), and Use Group E, Educational (BOCA 305). The Life Safety Code considers the Vocational Building as Business Occupancy. The builidng construction consists of masonry bearing walls and exposed steel frame with exposed steel roof trusses and metal deck. The assumed construction type is 20-C Unprotected per BOCA Chapter 5. None of the vocational buildings will be equipped with an automatic sprinkler system. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilites statement to include three projects completed within the last 5 years that are relevant to the work to be performed by the project. Provide a point of contact for each project listed. Your capabilities statement shall be submited to Ms. Olivia J.
