- Description
- This project is to repair AEDC Railroad Trackage of the main line from Tullahoma to the J4/APTU loop. Work includes replacing cross ties and switch ties; adding ballast; aligning, surfacing, tamping, and dressing track; reworking road crossings; repairing stripped joints; and welding up one switch point. Period of performance is 60 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about 2 April 2009. Bid opening date will be on or about 1 May 2009. Construction Magnitude: Between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Invitation for Bid (IFB) will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of IFB Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information. NOTICE: Award of a contract will be in accordance with FAR 52.232-18, Availability of Funds. Funds are not presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer.
