Description
NAICS Code: 513340 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions 8 and 10 Emergency Response Units, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquistion Procedures, intends to award a sole source purchase order to the current provider, MiriMicrosystems, LLC, for the purchase of three (3) complete IAUTOSAT-96 Mobile satellite dish systems (to include a 4 Watt BUC Upgrade; activation, bandwidth services, phone adapter, PBX Configuration, VOIP ID Line Charge, VOIP DID Phone Number and PBX Service). These systems will be used on communications vehicles currently in production. These units will be used to provide satellite internet, video conferencing and voice over IP phone service. Their primary uses will be in Regions 8 and 10 (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington State) respectively. The equipment currently in use by the the Mobile Command Units was purchased from Miri Microsystems, LLC under a national contract. That contract included service, 24-hour help desk, emergency repairs and routine maintenance. To guarantee that these systems can be moved into that contract, they must be purchased from the same vendor as the other 28 existing dishes. It has been determined that this acquisition be awarded sole source to insure that the warranty for service and repairs is not obstructed. EPA also requires that these units operate in exactly the same way as the existing portable units to eliminate the need for additional training and unnecessary costs to the government. The configuration for these satellite dishes must be exactly like the existing satellite dishes. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is: 513340. The EPA has only one known source for this procurement that is in the government's best interest. If there are any other potential sources, please submit your capability statement via email to the U.S. EPA, c/o Elaine Scott at: scott.elaine@epa.gov no later than 2PM, EST March 25, 2009. NO CALLS PLEASE.
