- The Department of the Navy (DoN)intends to host the second in a series of industry days for the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN). The purpose of this Industry Day will be to build upon the information previously made available to the public by providing details on how the DoN anticipates transitioning from the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) to NGEN. NGEN Industry Day 2 will be held on March 31, 2009 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center located at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave Northwest, Washington, D.C. The following information is provided: a. Check-in will be from 1145 to 1245. Briefings will begin promptly at 1300 (EST). b. This industry day is open to all contractor, media and government personnel who have registered for the event and received a registration confirmation. All interested parties must register via a link posted at the website: https://portal.peoeis.navy.mil/main c. Registration will be open from 1200 (EST), March 19, 2009 through 1700 (EST) March 26, 2009 or until the number of registrants reaches 550 people, whichever is sooner. d. Each contractor or government organization will be limited to 3 registrants on a first-come basis. e. If 550 people have not registered by 0800(EST) March 27, 2009, registration for the event will remain open. At that time, registration will be extended to those contractors or government organizations wishing to register additional attendees not to exceed 10 total people per company or government organization. f. Registration will be verified prior to entrance. Due to seating capacity restrictions, each contractor and government organization will be limited to the total number of their confirmed registrations. g. Walk-ins will be allowed to register if seats are available, on a first-come basis starting at 1245 on the day of the event. h. DoN will be collecting point of contact (POC) information from any contractor(s) who wish to be added to the Contractor POC list located within the NGEN Reference Library. All interested contractors will be given the opportunity at registration to provide a POC name and contact information for their company. This information will be posted after the event. i. The Industry Day will conclude with a short question and answer period. In preparation for the Industry Day, DoN will continue to make information available at the NGEN Reference Library contained at: https://portal.peoeis.navy.mil/main/. The information provided is for Informational Purposes Only and is not a commitment by the Government. The information does not constitute as a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation, and is not a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. The DoN expects to post various types of information under this synopsis to provide industry information about the DoN IT environment and upcoming opportunities. Industry is invited to submit questions in advance that they would like addressed during this event or released shortly thereafter. Questions should be sent to NGEN_Questions@bah.com. No solicitations are currently available; any releases will be announced on the FedBizOpps website www.fbo.gov.
