- With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its CADY MARSH DITCH IMPROVEMENTS, GRIFFITH, INDIANA PROJECT. The Contractor will be required to provide all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to construct a flood protection system consisting of approximately 2,408 LF of floodwall, 1,240 LF of channel excavation, 8 drain outlet structures, installation of a trashrack rake and new stoplogs on the existing Cady Marsh Ditch tunnel inlet, installation of lighting at the existing Cady Marsh Ditch tunnel inlet, installation of a work platform on the Cady Marsh Ditch tunnel outlet shaft, installation of a jib crane and its foundation at the Genis Pump Station, riprap for erosion control, and other work items identified in the Bid Schedule. The estimated cost for construction is between $1.0 Million and $5.0 Million. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size in dollars of $33.5 Million. COMPETITION IS UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. Interested Offerors can download the Invitation for Bids Package from the Internet Site https://www.fedteds.gov/fedteds/start.nsf/frm.vendorlogin?openform&SolicitationNumber=W912P6-09-B-0001. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on 20 March 2009. The due date for bids will be on or about 20 April 2009, at 2:00 PM Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
