Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to award a sole source delivery order under N00019-05-G-0026 to the Boeing Company (Boeing), P.O. Box 3707, 7755 East Marginal Way, Seattle, WA 98124-2499. This order is to perform a P-8A Sonobuoy Launcher Modification feasibility study and to provide a P-8A Lower Lobe Flammability Methodology Update. A sole source acquisition will be procured under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible Source.” Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Boeing P-8A airframe, and therefore is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government’s requirements on a timely basis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The Government will consider all capability information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
