- Description
- The following is a notice of Intent to award a sole source firm-fixed price Geographic Information System (GIS) Consultant contract to Casey Soudery of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures; estimated value is less than $35,000. Mr. Soudy has extensive knowledge regarding the GIS layers required for the Border Lakes Region and he is highly familiar with the project and the modeling program (i.e. the LANDIS-II Model) Mr. Shouder has been closely involved with the modeling Project includes: Modeling research for the Border Lakes Project, a multi-year, collaborative, research project examine the effects of timber harvest, fire, and climate change on the ecological sustainability of northern forests of Minnesota and Ontario. Mr. Soudery will supply the US Forest Service with GIS services and products, and he will assist Northern Research Station Researchers with preparing ecological modeling datasets. Products and services include: 1) preparing model input datasets; 2) organizing/preparing model outputs for analysis; 3) spatial data analysis using GIS; and 4) GIS map production. Products will be in both digital form (e.g., digital datasets for ecological models, reports, power point presentations, web pages and hard copy form (e.g., posters, reports). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Therefore, no solicitation documents will be issued. Award is anticipated on or about March 20, 2009.
