Description
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a sole source purchase order with Alfred Williams and Company, 1813 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh, NC 27604 to provide repair and maintenance of furniture throughout the EPA?s Main Campus Facilities in addition to the Research Toxicology Facility (RTF Bldg) located at 2525 East NC Hwy 54, Durham, NC 27713. It also entails providing storage labor and the offeror shall be responsible for removing existing inventory from its current location to their site location if applicable and provide a transition. The purchase order is being awarded under FAR Subpart 13.5 ? Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The U.S. EPA believes that Alfred Williams and Company is the only company that can provide repair and maintenance to ALL of the existing furniture in our facility because they are the only authorized dealer for all the furniture lines owned or leased at the EPA such as Kimball Office, Davis Furniture, Geiger, Herman Miller, Hickory Business Furniture and Krueger International. The period of performance is expected to be from a base year of April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010 with 4 Option Periods. NAICS Code: 44210 Office Furniture Stores and the Small Business Size Standard is $7 million. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required support should explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within 15 days from the date of this announcement. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any response(s) exist and therefore no Request for Quote (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will not be honored. Interested vendors shall: 1) include information on the proposed services which clearly supports the requirements outlined above and 2) provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government an order will be placed with Alfred Williams and Company. Submit your response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, RTP Procurement Operations Division (E105-02), Attn: Kimberly Keith-Thompson, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711 or e-mail Keith-Thompson.Kimberly@epa.gov
