- Description
- NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the following: Demolitionof Building 4610 West.PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be performed under this project consists of providingthe labor, equipment, and materials to demolish Building 4610 West and to recycle and ordispose of the demolition debris in accordance with all applicable environmentalregulations. Building 4610 West is a 63,885 square foot, 3-story reinforced concretestructure, that is attached on the East side to Building 4610, a 5 story occupiedstructure that will remain. Additionally, there is a small concrete block structureattached to Building 4610W on the South side that is a critical communications hub thatwill remain, and must also be protected from damage during demolition. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $100K - $500K and the effort shall becompleted within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed.The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 238910 and $14M,respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about March 13, 2009 with an anticipatedoffer closing date of on or about April 14, 2009.The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. Alldrawings/packages requested must be in writing and contain the Company name, Address, andPhone/Fax numbers. Request for IFB packages should be made to the below listedpersonnel. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractor will be aconsideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCEDMODIFICATION RATING (EMR) of 1.0 or less and proof included within the bid package. Theprime subcontractors EMR rating shall be no more than 1.1. Requests for IFB drawingpackages will not be accepted less than 10 days prior to bid opening. Award of thisproject is contingent upon the availability of funds.All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement with the exception of thespecifications and drawings will be available over the Internet. These documents willreside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browserapplication. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/MSFC Business Opportunities page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=62 Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It isthe offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of thesolicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Any referencednotes may be viewed at the URLs linked below.(a) The clauses at 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 52.236-3, SiteInvestigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contractawarded as a result of the solicitation.
