Description
PROGRAM OFFICERS The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking administrative and program support staff to serve as program officers for its Washington, DC-based technical assistance program. The persons selected will be hired under personal services contracts. The Office of Technical Assistance provides overseas advisors to over 30 countries in five functional areas: financial enforcement (financial crimes), government debt issuance and management, public sector budgeting and financial management, banking and financial services, and tax policy and administration. Program Officers provide administrative support and logistical assistance for overseas resident and intermittent advisors in one of the five functional areas. Duties include: coordinating recruitment, contracting and placement of advisors; coordinating travel and other logistical needs of advisors; communicating with advisors in the field on a regular basis; maintaining the historical record of all program activities in assigned countries and regions; preparing briefing and reports on areas of responsibility for internal and external distribution; and conference and meeting planning. The ideal candidate will have a degree in public administration, finance, or international affairs or a relevant subject matter; two to five years of work experience, preferably in USG foreign assistance or project coordination or management; word processing and spread sheeting skills; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Budget or accounting experience and foreign language capability is desirable. US citizenship is required. SALARY: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, starting salaries are negotiable from $50,408 to $95,026.
