Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Atlantic Division in conjunction with Headquarters, would like to invite contractors to Industry Day to be held at the Hilton Hotel, 1767 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia on 3 April 2009 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Check-in for the event will begin at 8:00 AM. This event is not a marketing opportunity and will not promote upcoming projects. The purpose of the Industry Day event is to gain industry insight and comments regarding MilCon Transformation. This event is open to the public and is not restricted to those currently under contract with the Army Corps of Engineers. The focus of the event will be to evaluate the Army Corps progress in implementing MilCon Transformation and to discuss issues including, but not limited to contractor response to RFPs, mandated use of Bentley BIM, contract acquisition strategies, modular construction and material selection. The Industry Day is limited to two representatives per company. All interested attendees must pre-register by email to both NAD Alan Huntley at alan.huntley@usace.army.mil and to HQ Jane Engvall at jane.a.engvall@usace.army.mil with the following subject line RSVP NAD Industry Day by 4:00 PM, March 20, 2009. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Registration must include name, company, day time telephone number, email address and reason for attendance. Registrants may also include suggested topics for discussion. This is a no-fee event and seating is limited. Check-in for the event begins at 8:00 AM. The Government will not be conducting one-on-one discussions during this event. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, a forum to discuss upcoming work, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. The Army will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts. Future Industry Day events are planned for the Northwest District in Seattle, Washington; the Southwest Division in Dallas, Texas; the South Atlantic Division in Atlanta, Georgia; and the Lakes and Rivers Division in Louisville, Kentucky. Dates and location are to be determined and will be announced.
