It does include anytechnology, potentially suited for the above application used in diversemaritime as well as land environments. Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama CityDivision (NSWC-PCD) is interested in materials, systems, and technologies thatcan mitigate the physical and environmental effects that degr! ade remote control circuit breakers during LCAC operations. The desired systemwill be capable of having increased reliability over current systems to levelsthat will increase mean time between replacement reducing maintenanceevolutions. Thereby, the desired system will increase combat readiness andreduce life cycle maintenance costs. The weight of the systems should be keptto a minimum. This announcement will serve as a first step for evaluatingalternatives and supporting In-Service Engineering Agent, (ISEA), research anddevelopment efforts planned for fiscal years 2009-2010. Systems could beacquired in the future for Test and Evaluation for future LCAC In-ServiceEngineering Agent, ISEA, installation. Both off-the-shelf and developmentalapproaches will be considered. Responses to this announcement should include atechnical description and detailed characteristics of the remote control circuitbreaker for use on the Landing Craft Air-Cushion (LCAC). System! descriptions should have enough information for the government to make informed decisions.
