- Mesa Verde National Park intends to award a Sole Source contract to Johnson Controls under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for the purpose of obtaining an upgrade to their Headquarters HVAC system. The Government believes that Johnson Controls is the only responsible source capable of satisfying this requirement. They own the licensing rights to this system, the JCI Metasys PMI/M5 building automation system, which is proprietary. They are the only factory authorized service outlet for this system. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The estimated dollar value of this acquisition is below $50,000.00. No Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued and no responses will be made to letters or telephone requests for a copy of the solicitation. This is not a request for competitive quotes, but serves as procurement notice to fulfill public posting requirements in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1). This requirement is unrestricted and the NAICS code 238220 applies. Responsible firms believing they can provide the required items are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. However, they must provide supporting evidence that they can furnish the requested items at a cost that will not exceed the total estimated transaction cost. All responses will be considered for future actions. The Government intends to make award, without delay for this requirement.
