- The VA Network 22 Logistics Office in Long Beach, CA, intends to negotiate a commercial Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 sole source procurement with Vital Images, Inc., located at 5850 Opus Parkway, Ste. 300, Minnetonka, MN 55343-4414. The procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services with satisfy agency requirements) incorporates provisions and clauses as those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-29. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This BOS announcement constitutes the only solicitation issued. A separate written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quotation is RFQ VA-262-09-RP-0165-JM. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 423450 and the small business size standard is considered 6.5M. The Contractor shall provide maintenance for Vitrea compatible CPU. Vital Images, Inc, is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Vitrea Compatible CPU. Due to the proprietary nature of the equipment only employees of the vendor are authorized to provide service. This vendor is being utilized without competition due to the sole source. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government shall consider all proposals received by 1:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time Monday, February 23, 2009. Information received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries shall be accepted.
