- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following item (s): maintenance and calibration for tool room lathe. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Southwestern Industries, Inc., 2615 Homestead Pl, Compton, CA 90220-5610. Southwestern Industries, Inc is the manufacturer and distributor of the lathe equipment in this notice and is the only known company to have access to all proprietary service information. The Government will consider all responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may con tact the Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, 21005. All responsible parties should submit queries to this requirement in writing to Mr. Wallace (david.wallace@conus.army.mil) by close of business February 18, 2009. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence, that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
