Description
Construction Project: Provide all labor, materials, incidentals, and equipment to perform the work required to rewind Main Units 1 through 4 and 7 through 12 at the McNary Lock and Dam Powerhouse. Two complete installations will be accomplished concurrently within a 6 month period each year for 5 years. This list is a general summary of the required work and is not all inclusive: a. Design, manufacture, shop test, and deliver ten complete sets of stator bars and all accessories specified herein. b. Disassemble and reassemble ten generators. c. Remove old stator coils on ten units. d. Install and test ten new stator windings and accessories specified herein. e. Perform special field tests on one unit. f. Remove the old turbine shaft sleeves and install the new Contractor-furnished shaft sleeves on ten units. g. Furnish, install, and test new bourdon tube-style switches, temperature read-outs and automatic control of unit heaters for ten units. h. Remove and dispose of the existing rotating exciter and commutator for ten units. Modify existing shafts or provide a new stub shafts as necessary. i. Furnish, install, and test new bearing RTD's for ten units. j. Furnish, install, and test new surface air coolers for ten units. k. Remove servomotors, bore and hone cylinders, provide new piston rings and bushings, and install. l. Inspect brake plates on nine units. m. Remove old brake plates and install G-F brake plates on Main Unit 11. n. Clean and inspect all bearings for ten units. o. Replace high-pressure oil injection system components for ten units. p. Perform all work required to comply with the site operations, environmental protection, and safety and health provisions as specified herein. q. Furnish spare parts. r. At the option of the Government, restack one stator core using the Government-furnished laminations and furnish one new spare core. s. At the option of the Government, perform Phase 2 inspections on the thrust bearings. t. At the option of the Government, prepare Government-furnished spare bearings for installation. u. At the option of the Government, refurbish the generator and turbine bearings. All base work items and all optional work items are stated in the solicitation. Site of the work is Umatilla County, Oregon. Period of performance is stated above. Solicitation No. W912EF-09-R-0018 will be posted to the FBO website on or about March 9, 2009. Proposals will be due approximately 45 calendar days after the actual solicitation issuance date.
