- NOTE: This announcement is not a competitive request for proposals; it’s a notification that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to exercise an upcoming option period under an existing purchase order award. This announcement also provides notification that the purchase order includes an option period that may be exercised by the SEC in February, 2010. The SEC intends to issue a contract modification to exercise the second option period of an existing purchase order with CDW Government, Inc. for annual maintenance of Berbee Informacast software. The purchase order was awarded in March, 2007 as a sole source award. The statutory authority that permitted other than full and open competition for the purchase order is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a) (2) – Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The purchase order includes (3) option periods. Pricing for each option period was established when the purchase order was awarded in 2007. The SEC intends to issue a contract modification to exercise the second option period on or about February 27, 2009 for a period of one year. The SEC may exercise the third option period in February 2010 for the same annual maintenance. This notice is not a competitive request for proposals. A competitive solicitation will not be issued and no further information will be provided. However, the government will give consideration to interested parties that identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by the response date of this notice.
