- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division(NSWC PCD) intends to issue a firm fixed price sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedure to Themis Computer Incorporated, 3185 Laurelview Court, Fremont, CA 94538 for the acquisition of nine (9) RES-32DCX Rugged Enterprise Servers (PN: 535-L1J262811-5AW0000) to support fleet repair parts. The servers will be used on the Navigation, Command and Control System (AN/SSN-2(V)5). This procurement is sole source for the following reasons. The AN/SSN-2(V)5 was designed around the Themis server. Themis Computer Incorporated is the sole manufacturer of these servers. Currently, drawings or specifications are not available. The AN/SSN-2(V)5 system has already gone through and passed environmental and shock testing with this part installed. Once a system is certified, nothing can be altered without further testing and approval from the Program Office. NSWC PCD has been assigned as the In-Service En! gineering Activity and tasked to procure spares in support of the Naval inventory control point in order to support fleet failures; so, time is an issue. Using alternate equipment would prove costly in time and dollars to the government and to the mission. Use of another system may change or introduce new parameters that may be harmful to the AN/SSN-2(V)5 system. Therefore it is imperative that the servers are acquired from Themis Computers. The NAICS code is 334111 with size standard of 1,000 employees. FSC code 7021. Expected delivery date on or around 1 April 2009 to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7001.
