- Description
- This is a notice of the Government's intent to extend the performance period and increase the contract value for the current Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center (MSIAC) contract. The contract is scheduled to expire 31 May 2009. The intent is to extend the present performance period from 1 June 2009 through 31 May 2010. If executed, the value of the contract will be increased by $21.6M. The Government intends to negotiate with the incumbent contractor, Alion Science and Technology, on a sole-source basis. This extension will permit the continuation of performance of the current MSIAC contract while this requirement is recompeted under solicitation FA4600-08-R-0025. This is a non-commercial, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee, Requirements, Research & Development contract that was awarded on a competitive basis. This is neither a Request for Proposal nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. Information received by close of business 23 February 2009 will be considered by the government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
