- Description
- The Kootenai National Forest anticipates awarding a contract for hand tree planting on the Rexford, Fortine, and Libby Ranger Districts. The contract will consist of a base year (2009) and two option years for 2010 and 2011. Approximately 675 acres (159,000 trees) will be planted in 2009. Numbers of acres and seedlings to be planted in 2010 and 2011 have not yet been determined. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary to plant tree seedlings. Some of the work may be performed in steep and remote areas of the forest. The successful contractor must have enough crews and equipment to plant in all three districts simultaneously, if needed. The crew foreman must be able to speak and write English. The planting will be performed between April and June of each year.
