Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC), Microbial Food Safety (MFS), intends to negotiate solely with Risk Sciences International in Ottawa, Canada to make modifications to three components of the Predictive Microbiology Informaiton Portal. There are three main components to the PMIP: the Resource Locator, the Pathogen Modeling Program, and the ComBase Internet Browser. Resource Locator: The Resource Locator is a database of resources such as websites, documents, models and data sources which are searchable by defined categories. ERRC would like to expand the content of the Resource Locator to include resources related to E. coli O157:H7 in ground beef and C. perfringens in cooling of cooked products. The list of resources to be added will be mutually developed by ERRC and RSI and ERRC will approve each resource to be added. These resources will be added using the existing web-based administrator interface for the Resource Locator database. Pathogen Modeling Program: The Pathogen Modeling Program is an online version of the Pathogen Modeling Program desktop application. ERRC would like to add ten models to the online version of the Pathogen Modeling program. These models will be a combination of newly published models as well as models currently in the desktop version but not yet in the online version. ERRC will provide all model documentation as well as the current PMP Online source code. The models will be developing using Analytica and integrated with the online website by extending the existing Visual Studio source code. The new models will then be installed on the server in Wyndmoor. ComBase Internet Browser: ComBase is a relational database of Predictive Microbiology information. ComBase contains thousands of data sets that describe the growth, survival and inactivation of bacteria under diverse environments relevant to food processing operations. Access to this data is provided by the ComBase Internet browser. The browser is currently hosted on a server in Wyndmoor and mirrored on a server in Norwich. Companies with the demonstrated capabilities of providing this instrument must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment’s components and availability. The NAICS is 541511. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE
