Description
The Department of Education intends to issue a 3 month (90 days) extension to existing contract # ED-01-CO-0028/0019. The current period of performance ends on March 24, 2009. The purpose of the extension is to enable AIR staff provide a report for NAEP Mapping 2007 study that is signed-off by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). On September 25, 2003, The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) within the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education (ED) awarded contract ED-01-CO-0026/0019 to American Institute for Research (AIR) with head office at Washington, DC seeking technical and analytical support necessary to design, conduct, and report in-depth, thematic studies of student achievement within the states, jurisdictions, and districts participating in NAEP. The ultimate goal was to enrich the scope of state NAEP results by conducting ad-hoc and exploratory analyses on the existing and forthcoming assessment results. The tasks under this project classified into four activities. One activity was to compile available information on state assessments. So the data can be used in comparing the state performances along with NAEP state assessments and produce report; for example, NAEP Mapping study, measuring improvement in inclusion rates of special students in NAEP assessment. The mode of data collection has to be changed at the request of the states and caused the initial delays. Other unavoidable circumstances led AIR delay in completing the various stages of reviews, a requirement for NCES products. The 3 month (90 day) extension will allow AIR to complete the reports on NAEP 2007 mapping study satisfactory to all three stages of reviews that includes IES to sign-off. This will allow the resulting report to be publicly released in accordance with IES policies. This notice is for informational purposes only. A request for proposal is not required. Interested parties may, however, request further information no later than February 13, 2009 by email to Contract Specialist Vidya Vish at Vidya.Vish@ed.gov. 9.Place of Performance: AIR office at San Francisco, CA 10. Set-Aside Designation: Not a Small Business Set-Aside
