Description
The purpose of this Request for offers is to seek competent and qualified contractors to replace three of the four air handling units (AHUs) servicing the Host Area Computer Room located at the Seattle ARTCC located in Auburn, Washington. This project is 100% set-aside for competition exclusively amongst SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BUSNIESS CONCERNS (SEDB) as certified with the Small Business Administration. SUMMARY OF WORK: Following is a general description of the work:Three of the four Air Handling Units (AHU's) servicing the HOST Area Computer Room will be replaced under this contract. These three units were initially installed in the mid 1980's and should be replaced. The fourth unit was installed during the Automation Wing Rehab Project in 1996 and remains in good operational condition. Under this project each of the three original units will be replaced in turn with only one unit out of service at any one time. Only access floor work and electrical work required for the direct replacement will be accomplished under this project. The project duration will consist of 3 weeks for the actual replacement, 1 week for air handling unit controls commissioning and an additional 2 weeks for initial project mobilization and demobilization following the replacement work for a total of 6 weeks actual construction. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
