- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Yardney Technical Products, Inc. 82 Mechanic Street, Suite 2, Pawcatuck, CT 06379-9215 for the acquisition of one-hundred (100) each LR-190DC-1 Silver Zinc Cells with Fill Kits, sixty-six (66) each LR-215DC-3 Silver Zinc Cells with Fill Kits, eighty-four (84) Inter-cell Connector Straps, part number 19957, and forty-eight (48) each Inter-cell Connector Straps, part number 4693307-1. The Navy requires its battery cells to be able to provide enough energy density to power the system in excess of 10 hours and to these provide a "wet" life (how long the cell will be usable after it is activated) in excess of 12 months. In the past, the program has purchased and used over 800 LR-190 and LR 215 cells from several vendors. These cells were installed in numerous systems and tested extensively. Because of the critical nature of the "wet" life requirement and the fact that! the Yardney cells have outperformed the other vendor's cells in this area, the Yardney Technical Products LR-190DC-1 and LR 215DC-3 Silver Zinc battery cells are to be procured with no substitutions. The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N61331-09-T-9505. Simplified Acquisition Procedures is the method of award for this procurement. The NAICS code is 335912 with size standard of 1,000 employees. The order shall be firm fixed priced with an expected delivery date on or around 30 April 2009. The expected award date will be on or around 9 February 2009. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7001. Delivery terms for this requirement are FOB Destination. In order to be eligible for award firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Vendors may obtain information on registration in the CCR by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Please note that defense payment office may not make payment unless the contractor is established to receive electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT payments are based on the contractor's EFT information contained in the CCR database. The NSWCPC has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the acquisition area.
