- The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order for 650 ea 5ml vials, 100 mg/ml dry Telazol (Tiletamine HCL and Zolazepan HCL), manufactured by Fort Dodge Animal Health, Fort Dodge, IA 50501-0518. Fort Dodge Animal Health's Telazol is the only injectable dissociative anesthetic/tranquilizer combination product for animals approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Telazol is a rapid-acting anesthetic. It provides anesthesia with muscle relaxation and analgesia that can protect reflexes such a coughing and swallowing. Use intended for the capture and handling of polar bears in the Beaufort Sea, AK for continuing research for the Polar Bear Action Plan. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide this commodity are encouraged to identify themselves and give email notification to the contracting office within 5 days of the publication date of this synopsis. Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement.
