- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is interested in identifying a qualified source for technology transfer of Advanced Counterfeit Deterrent material from its current contractor, Xerox Special Information Systems (XSIS) upon expiration of it's 5 year contract, TEP 05-0003 on Oct. 2010. XSIS is permanently exiting from the CCDS program. It is necessary for BEP to find a qualified or alternative material supplier that could fill future production orders for CCDS pigment. The material is used as a covert security feature on US currency. This covert feature is readable only on the special sensors that were developed by Xerox Special Information Systems (XSIS), but is now under contract with Authentix. The CCDS technology is classified at the "Secret" level by the US government. As such, access to the classified documents regarding the CCDS pigment manufacturing, testing, & use shall only be authorized by BEP upon contract award. Vendors who maybe interested in this technology transfer effort are encouraged to respond to this announcement by submitting their business size, security level, and ability to obtain a contract from XSIS for the special sensors.
