Description
The US Army, Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command,Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing, test, packaging, and delivery of 1,920 81mm M879 FRPC with Center Vent Tube Technology. All major components will be provided as government furnished material: shell bodies, fins, fuzes, ignition cartridges, and propulsion systems of four propelling charges each. First Article Tests (FAT) units (120 units) are required to be accepted before producing the remaining quantity (1,800 units). It is desired that potential producers delivered these items to the Government within 3 months after contract award. All responding sources shall provide descriptive literature to substantiate present capabilities including at a minimum, organization name/address/point of contact identification, facilities, successful experience in the Loading, Assembly, and Packaging of mortar cartridge, inspection processes, equipment, monthly production rates achieved and plan to meet the above requirement, and whether the company is a small or large business. The market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government will utilize information provided for planning purposes only. All information submitted will be provided at no cost to the Government and will be held in confidential status. All responding sources must submit their responses, at no cost to the government, to Ms. Monica Escalante, monica.escalante@us.army.mil no later than February 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. This announcement is for informational planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, nor does it obligate the Government to issue a Request for Proposal. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
