Description
This amendment is being issued to address questions submitted for the RFI. Also see attachment. Questions and answers are as follows: 1. What operating systems are involved i.e. Windows, AIX, Solaris, HPUX, Linux, z/OS. Ans: Solaris 10, Oracle DB backend, and Apache web server. 2. How many systems are involved in the sending and receiving of files? How many are under the control of your organization and how many are outside of your organization? Ans: Technically there are two internal systems which are used for the receipt, storage, and processing of batch files before they are transmited to their final external destination. 3. What are the range of file sizes and what is the volumes and frequencies of transfers? Ans: 0Kb to 8MB at an average rate of 1000 files per week. 4. With regards to the question having to do with XML, what are the specific interests and or requirements? Ans: Although XML features are utilized in managing the formatting and parsing of input and output files, it is not currently used in support of the batch processes. The existence of XML capabilities is necessary in determining future capabilities and necessary information assurance requirements. 5. When does the organization anticipate making a vendor selection and implementing the solution? Ans: Within the next 6 months. 6. Is there a DFD (Data Flow Document) for SLDCADA? Ans: Attached is a sample SLDCADA DFD which reflects the interface to/from the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS). SLDCADA interfaces with several external systems and also processes data files to/from customer sites following the same process flow shown in the attached diagram.
