- Notice of Acquisition Strategy Termination 1. During the August 2008 timeframe a strategic pause was enforced to allow time to re-evaluate the J85 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) strategy and rationale. A conference was conducted at Tinker AFB and direction was given to determine if it was possible to shorten the contract length while staying within budget constraints and driving engine reliability improvements. 2. A Request for information was posted to FedBizOps to gain industry feedback and suggestions for implementation of the changes directed to the J85-5 PBL strategy. Based on the information received and other internal discussions a decision has been made to terminate the J85-5 PBL strategy being worked through the Propulsion Commodity Council. The workload will be supported through separate follow-on contracts. Interested parties are encouraged to check FedBizOps postings for the opportunity to propose on these efforts.
