Description
The Seattle District Corps of Engineers has a competitive requirement to design/adapt and construct an Indoor Firing Range Facility designed to prevent bullets from penetrating or escaping its walls and roof. The 22,595 square foot facility will contain 14 firing lanes, 50 meters long with a steel bullet trap at the target end. The lanes shall be 6 feet wide, each with 2-8 feet additional clearance between the walls and the end lanes. The building will also contain a range officer control room, a classroom, two toilet rooms, two mechanical rooms, an electrical room, and a storage room. An entrance lobby and single corridor connecting the firing range are also provided. The building will include space for installation of a bullet trap collection system. The bullet trap system will be installed by a separate Government contractor. Site work includes rough and finish grading, gravel parking area, perimeter fencing, and connection to installation utilities. Construction Cost Limitation (CCL) is $5.6M and the completion period is estimated at 365 calendar days. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 with a small business size standard of $33.5M. This requirement will be a Best Value procurement conducted in accordance with procedures outlined in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 15. The solicitation will be a Request for Proposals (RFP), and a firm-fixed-price contract will be negotiated as a result of this procurement. This project is open to small businesses only.
