- Description: The Minneapolis VA Medical center is seeking waste disposal services for the hospital's infectious waste, including needles, which originates from the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients that have been or may have been exposed to a contagious or infectious disease, or immunization or in the production or testing of biologicals. This is a full and open competition. All qualified offers are invited to provide their quotation. Offers shall be evaluated for fair and reasonable pricing, technical competency, and satisfactory past performance. The Government anticipates award of a commercial item contract to the offeror whose offer provides the best value to the Government. Award will be made a combination of FAR part 12, 13, 15, and 17 award procedures. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about May 14, 2008 and will be issued via Fed Biz Opps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Offerors are responsible for checking the web site regularly to obtain amendments. Offers are due January 30, 2009 at 4:00pm CST. Questions regarding this solicitation must be in writing. They may be sent by email to: Bridget.Purdy@va.gov or by fax to 612-725-2072. No telephonic inquiries will be accepted. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the issuing office, be in accordance with the quotation preparation instructions outlined in the solicitation, and be timely. The NACIS code assigned to this procurement will be 562112 with a size standard of $11.5 million.
