- SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic intends to issue a commercial, sole source contract, inaccordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source, to Motorola Inc,7031 Columbia Gateway DR., Columbia, MD 21406-2289 for the purchase ofadditional Radio Communication Equipment (infrastructure) in order to expandthe existing Motorola Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. The followingequipment will be added: Two (2) Motorola GTR-8000 Expandable Site Sub-Systems, each will include supporting cabinetry, supporting software,supportinghardware; Three (3) UHF Omni directional dipole antennas, each will includesupporting connectors and cabling; Ten (10) UHF Motorola XTL-5000Consolette radios (380-470 MHz) each will include software; Two low PIM singledipole UHF antennas, each will include hardware; Two (2) short-haul controlstation combiners; Ten (10) Centracom Gold equipment each will includeinterface hardware, supporting CEB card and cage, and power supply; systemintegration; training; and year 1-4 maintenance warranty will broaden the reachof the current system and enable utilization of existing equipment andinfrastructure. U.S. Marine Corps has Motorola XTS-2500 handheld subscriberunits in addition to the Motorola infrastructure already in place, which arebothcompatible with the GTR-8000. The Motorola equipment currently owned andutilized by the Government contains proprietary software programming, whichallows specific functionality that will be lost if using non-Motorolainfrastructurewith Motorola subscriber units (e.g., Roaming, Dispatcher Control, Caller ID, I-Call, Telephone interconnect, Emergency signaling, Position LocationIndication). A Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated. This is a one timepurchase. The applicable North American Industry Classification System(NAICS) Code is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees. This noticeof intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
