- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-2: Unusual and Compelling Urgency. The Mission & Installation Contracting Command Directorate of Contracting Aberdeen Proving Ground, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following item (s): Annual Laboratory Accreditation. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-2, an unusual and compelling urgency precludes full and open competition, and delay in award of a contract would result in serious injury, financial or other, to the Government. As a result of this requirement, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to American Association for Lab Accreditation, 5301 Buckeystown Pike, Sutie 350, Frederick, MD 21704. The Government will consider all responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may contact the Mission and Installation Contracting Command Directorate of Contracting Aberdeen Proving Ground, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, 21005. All responsible parties should submit queries to this requirement to Mr. Wallace (david.wallace@conus.army.mil) by close of business January 7, 2009. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence, that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
