Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) numbered N00421-09-R-0037. This solicitation document and the incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-08. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division located at Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement to issue a Firm-Fixed Price contract. Only firm fixed price offers will be evaluated. All proposals shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Cetifications – Commercial Items. Proposals should be submited via E-mail via or common carrier such as mail, FEDEX, or UPS for example. Please allow for extra delivery time due to base security. The Government reserves the right to reject all proposals received after the closing date and time. STATEMENT OF WORK AQUAMISER AND EF-5992 COATING E-6 FST:TP (4.3.3) 1.0OBJECTIVES This Statement Of Work (SOW) identifies requirements for use of Aquamiser to remove existing sealant for structural inspection and for application of EF-5992 coating in E-6 integral fuel tank lower surface at stingers Nr 5 & Nr 7 from side of fuselage to production break, FSS 733 and RSS 725. 2.0PROCEDURES: 2. IAquamiser process requirements: a. The water pressure shall not exceed 15,000 PSI. b. The water and sealant debris must be contained and completely removed by vacuum system. c. Dehumidify the integral fuel tank by forced air drying process with explosion proof electric air blower and supplemental venture systems. 2.2EF-5992 coating application processes: a. Surface preparation: remove corrosion, clean and Alodine. b. Apply corrosion control coating followed by a basecoat application. NOTE Each of these coats must be adequately cured (dry to touch, estimate 2.5 hours cure time) before application of subsequent coat and has 90 degree brushing direction from each other. c.Apply grout sealant over fastener head and grout fillet seal at the interface followed by three more overcoats of the sealant. 2.3Leak check the integral fuel tank.
