- *************SEND ALL INFORMATION AND CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDING QUOTES AND TECHNICALQUESTIONS IN WRITING TO JUDITH DRABKIN AT Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; FAX:256-544-4401*************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Real Time Simulation Systems. These systems will be usedfor demonstrations and verification in support of the System Integration Lab (SIL).NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Concurrent Computer Corporation on a solesource basis.Concurrent Computer Corporations RedHawk real-time operating system is currently in usewithin the SIL, and any subsequent real-time systems must be compatible with thisoperating system so that any software deployed on these systems would not need to bere-verified and possibly redesigned. Re-verification or redesign requirements wouldresult in significant labor costs and schedule delays.The real-time systems, and theperipheral items associated with this requirement, must be purchased as an integratedsolution from Concurrent Computer Corporation so that the performance can be guaranteedand compatibility with existing real-time systems maintained. The computing platformitself, and all peripheral input/output devices and their associated driver software,must be certified by the real-time operating system vendor. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Judith Drabkin at Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; Fax: 256-544-4401 nolater than 4:30 p.m. local time on January 08, 2009. Such capabilities/qualificationswill be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to competethis proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
