Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at https://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane. Offerors are encouraged to access information also available on the NSWC Crane Division web site at http://www.crane.navy.mil/acquisition/homepage.htm. NAVSURFWARCEN Crane Division has a requirement for Major Repair of AN/APS-130 Broad Band Tunable Magnetrons, NSN 5960-01-113-4473. The configurations of the tubes differ since the tubes were first produced by different companies. Of the tubes to be repaired, a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 66 were manufactured by CPI/Varian while a minimum of 4 each and a maximum of 30 were manufactured by L-3/Litton. An offeror may propose replacing the magnetrons needing repair, on a one for one basis, with new magnetrons the offeror has manufactured in accordance with NAVSURFWARCEN Crane Statement of Work. Inspection and Acceptance will be at destination. Delivery shall be FOB destination as specified by each order. The solicitation will utilize full and open competition procedures. The Government intends to award to the responsible contractor(s) whose offer(s) is/are the greatest value to the Government considering past performance and price related factors, with past performance ! being somewhat more important than price. Five-year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery, fixed-priced contract(s) is/is anticipated to result. Split awards may be made if it is in the Government's interest. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The solicitation will be available for download on or about 7 January 2009. Closing date will be on or about 6 February 2009. This notice is a synopsis and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure subject equipment. The POC is D. A.
