- This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website located at http://www.fbo.gov, the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Acquisition website located at http://www.crane.navy.mil/acquisition/homepage.htm. FBO is the primary point of entry to be used when access to synopses and solicitations from the World Wide Web is required. However, the NECO webpage as well as the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Acquisition webpage serve as alternatives if the FBO website is unavailable. Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division has a requirement for monocular housing kits. These monocular housing kits shall be used by the government (along with the existing inventory of image intensifier tubes, objective lenses and eyepieces from the AN/AVS-6 night vision binoculars) for Government assembly of the Survival Night Vision Scope (SNVS). The monocular housing kit shall contain all parts used in the assembly of a working night vision monocular with the exception of the image intensifier tube, objective lens and eyepiece. This includes the exterior housing assembly, battery housing, eyecup, miscellaneous screws, o-rings, locking rings, caps, sleeves, adapters and other components required to complete the unit. Initial inspection shall be at source and final acceptance will be destination. It is anticipated this action will result in a five-year firm fixed price (FFP) supply type Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The minimum/maximum q! uantity to be procured under this contract will be 1000/7000 units. This requirement shall be governed by FAR Part 12, "Acquisition of Commercial Items", and FAR Subpart 13.5, "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items". Offerors will be required to submit two product samples with their proposal. Award will be made on a best value basis. The contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database, located at www.ccr.gov. The solicitation will be available on or about 12 January 2009 at the three websites listed above.
