- Sole Source: The United States Army Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Yuma Directorate of Contracting, Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with Perkin-Elmer Corporation, 710 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484-4794. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy agency requirements, under the authority of 10 U.S.C 2304(C)(1). This requirement is for an Extended Warranty on the Tri-Carb 2900 Liquid Scintillation Analyzer (LSA) (purchased under contract W9124R-07-P-1414) for the period of one (1) year with Basic Coverage to include Parts, Labor, and Travel with one (1) Preventative Maintenance (PM) visit per year and Phone Support for the Safety Office, Installation Safety Division, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Yuma, Arizona. Perkin-Elmer is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and holds proprietary rights on the existing system being utilized at YPG. This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items per FAR 13.5. The North American Classification System (NAICS) codes 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. In order to protect proprietary information and prevent the unintentional releasing of guarded information all interested firms must conduct their own research regarding the specifications of the above listed requirement. Responses other than the above source may identify their interest and capabilities to perform the requirement by submitting a proposal via email or facsimile with complete mailing address, point of contact, phone number, facsimile number, business size and shall be clearly marked with solicitation number W9124R-09-T-1010.
