Description
This is not a request for proposals. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. The United States Coast Guard has a requirement for the repair/overhaul of various components on the Short Range Recovery aircraft (formerly HH-65). The parts are as follows: 1. Sync Ind Control - NSN: 5826-01-HS1-2564, P/N: 2586047-903-NVG 2. Receiver-Transmitter - NSN: 5841-01-134-8907, P/N: HG7502AJ02 3. Height Indicator - NSN: 5841-01-HS1-2272, P/N: JG1072A702-NVG 4. APN-209R/T - NSN: 1560-01-HS1-9683, P/N: HG7210CA01 5. Radar Altimeter, RT - NSN: 5840-01-HS2-0373, P/N: HG7210CB01 The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, parts, tooling, labor, test equipment, technical manuals, and facilities. The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is Honeywell International, Inc. An Indefinite Quantity Requirements Contract for a base year plus four one-year option periods is contemplated. Simplified Acquisition Test Program Procedures will be utilized for this acquisition. The Short Range Recovery (SRR) avionics system modernization plan includes the incorporation of the US Army Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) now being installed in the United States Coast Guard Medium Range Recovery (MRR) aircraft (formerly HH-60). After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website, www.fbo.gov. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. All companies that can meet the requirement are encouraged to provide a capability statement, company literature, brochures, or any other information that demonstrates that the requirement can be met. Telephone responses will NOT be accepted. Responses must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. (EST) on 02 January 2009. This notice is to assist the USCG in determining potential sources only. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. All interested parties must respond to the solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT considered as a request to be added to a prospective offeror’s list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Reimbursement will NOT be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests.
